Both
sides of my family had participants. On my fathers side, my uncle "John
P. Roop", was a member of the U.S.Marine Corps. On my mothers side, uncles
"Harry & David Green", were with the 29th Division, as was brother-in-law,"John
F. Boose", and brother Ronald, was with the Merchant Marines.

THIS
SITE IS DEDICATED TO THE LATE "Sgt. John Preston Roop of New Windsor,
Md. Company I, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Killed
in action on 3 Jan. 1944 at Cape Gloucester, New Britain Island,in the
Pacific. Uncle Johnny was awarded "Posthumously" The Bronze Star Medal
for "Heroism".
Posthumous Bronze Star Medal of Sgt John P. Roop. Medal has been passed
through the family. And was presented to Tim on May 11, 2015, by his cousin,
Bob Cairns.
